Simon Cowell's latest project ? which allegedly took two years to reach fruition ? sees the impresario hand-pick six of the UK's finest choral singers, put them in a studio with Il Divo producer Steve Mac and record some of the nation's most-loved Christmas songs. The six choristers in question, aged between 11 and 14, all share an undeniable talent and perform wonderful versions of these timeless songs. That they are very comfortable and confident with the chosen material is evident from the start. Whilst not wildly diverse, there's a decent range of tunes, from Sarah McClachlan's "Angel" and "Walking In The Air" through contemporary versions of hymns such as "O Holy Night" and "Pie Jesu" to less obvious interpretations of Enya's "May It Be" and Eva Cassidy's "Over The Rainbow". None of these versions will send revolutionary ripples through the Christmas album market of course; but in such masterful - if youthful - hands they become even more languorous and transcendent, making for a divinely horizontal Xmas listening experience.

Magnificent. I felt I had to post to counter the handful of inexplicably negative comments. This album contains some absolute gems. My system is a recently acquired Bose "Acoustic Wave" - the sound quality is sensational. Don't get me wrong, not every track hits the button, but three or four are absolutely outstanding. A "must buy" cd.

Beautiful!. One word, beautiful! There are no least favourite songs on this album, they are all magical!

Excellent Stress Therapy!. I am delighted with this album, "Angels" is fabulous, the remainder of the tracks follow a similar mood, and are based on some interesting arrangements of well known melodies, "somewhere over the rainbow" is just fabulously haunting.
After a tough stressful day, there could be no better therapy than sitting back with your favourite hot drink, killing the lights and letting the spritual splendour of Angelis wash over you, and convince you that the world is not so bad after all! If you enjoyed "The Choirboys", you'll love this, a recommended purchase!

Superb. I have never been interested in this sort of music in any way until i picked up the album in a shop one day and thought this looks boring. I went home and forgot about it until i went on the internet and saw the website, went to it saw Cowell give his speech looked about found "Angel" loved it, listened to other tracks on the net and immediately went out and bought it. I have never regretted it and love it to this day. I think the previous reviewer should have done the same as me before buying it. The only thing that annoys me is that these kids had talent and Cowell made his money and has ignored their potential. Well that about sums him up i suppose. Thoroughly recommend it.

Oh dear!. I bought this album having heard, and loved, 'Angel'. I expected to like some tracks more than others but was really looking forward to 'O Holy Night', thinking it would be of the same calibre as 'Angel'.
I'm very sorry to say that the only track I can listen to is 'Angel'. The rest are pretty awful and all sound the same. Not so much the voices (although there are a few notes which sounded to be a bit of a struggle, but these are just kids, after all), but the production is very poor.
Unfortunately it is one of few albums I regret buying.
It's a pity that Simon Cowell and his production team could not produce these kids as well as Il Divo to give them a bit of a chance.
Sorry, but I won't be recommending this album to anyone. If you like 'Angel', then buy the single.
