Apple iPod classic 80GB black

Seems great. It's like the old 30G one, but looks cooler, can do more stuff, and has a bigger capacity, right? WRONG. I've been using this ipod for just about a year and it's already croaked on me, just in time for the warranty to be void. I plug it in to add 2 new CDs, when it's done I unplug it and lo and behold, "no music". 70G of music erased from my ipod. Well that's just dandy. I'm not trying to hate on Apple, I've owned the first ipod, the mini, the nano, the shuffle, the 30G and the ipod touch and they all still work like a dream. This one however makes my computer bug whenever i plug it in, itunes won't respond and my computer eventually shuts down on its own. The best part is I have to try 10 times in a row to turn my computer back on because it's identified the ipod as some sort of security risk. (Thank you, Vista). You should know I treat my ipods like kings, I buy casings for every single one, they never fall, etc. It's possible that I've just fallen on the one moody ipod of the factory. And even before this recent event, the ipod never really worked that well. As I am typing, iTunes is unresponsive, my ipod says "Connected, eject before disconnecting." and my computer doesn't recognize my ipod. While I find that Apple products generally work really well, I haven't been impressed by this one as it's slowly driving me to insanity. I gave it 2 stars because it had the decency of working half well up until now.

This MP3 player is basically perfect. I had a little teething trouble with itunes on my PC, but once I got over that I have had no problems whatsoever, which is more than I can say for the Creative MP3 player I used to have. I love the way the ipod looks - modern and sleek without being too flashy - and the cover art feature is great. Sometimes you have to upload the cover art yourself, but the new version of itunes does a lot of them automatically now. The wheel is good and allows for quick scrolling, and you can also scroll through letters of the alphabet rather than having to trawl through every single album/artist. There are a few games on here. The best is the one which tests your knowledge of your own music collection, and it can certainly help pass a long bus or train journey. 80GB provides plenty of space and while it doesn't hold all of my music, it holds a lot. Not fitting everything on also means I freshen up my collection regularly, meaning I listen to a bigger variety of music. I've had my ipod for over a year now and it still looks and sounds as good as new.

This is the best item I have ever bought, I love it. I have had mine for 2 years now. no problems.bose speakers and the sound quality is great.

the apple ipod is a mp3 wich is highly popular around the world. for a while ive been switching beetween a array of mp3 players wich either didnt have alot of space or wich broke down after a while. being a musician i obviously listen to music alot and so when i got a bit of money to buy one at first i was a bit hesitant having to pay about 160£ for a mp3 player but know im glad i did. i like the curved corners and the round pad wich make it different from other mp3's it looks pretty good and with the added feature of playing videos the screen was a good size to watch all sorts of tv shows, podcasts and live performances. its also a pretty sturdy and durable item, obviously the back panel can get scratched a bit but i did drop it pretty hard onto a pavement and it didnt seem scuffed at all. the item came in a good padded package with all the said bits and pieces inside the box, the item was delivered in 2 days! wich i was amazingly happy about. the only slight downfall is the program 'itunes' wich is used to put your desired music, photos and videos onto the program, at first itunes is hard to figure out but after a little while it seems easier but with things like deleting stuff of it and getting album artwork to work on your ipod, itunes is probobly the must stuck up and annoying program to ever exist. but i do know of a few alternate programs to itunes. overall the ipod is a good investment for music lovers, a great piece of kit.

I bought this type of iPod since my Panasonic Cinema System will not recognise my generation 4 iPod nano. The 80GB memory is great but I miss the Genius facility from the nano. All in all a solid purchase.

This is my 2nd iPod Classic in 14months, I dropped the first one getting out of the car hands full, that one still plays but has no screen image. It`s only ever the Classic for me, more space than I`ll ever use, sleek design, easy to navigate, good screen, and a bit of weight to it in your pocket, so if you`re a scatterbrain like me you`re less likely to lose it.

at last i no longer have to wait for my boys to finish with the cd player. i can listern to my music in peace wherever and whenever i like!!

Having stuck by a disc man for years and then trying out various other mp 3 players my girlfriend got me an ipod classic for my birthday and what can i say i went from sceptic to believer in a short space of time. I have well over 500 Cd's and various downloads (all legal, can't beat sound quality) so it was often a case of chopping and changing what i wanted to put on my current mp 3 player, that problem was solved instantly with this ipod as every Cd i own is now loaded onto my ipod, ready to listen to at a moments notice. Its really easy to use as well just plug into your computer open up itunes and it loads up all the songs, pictures and movies you want to put on it. That's the great thing about it is that i still have over 40 gb left so there's no worry about space. Using the ipod itself is real easy to use with the click wheel being really straight forward, i know some people have complained about this feature but i found no problems. The menus are really straight forward and easy to follow. Some people have complained about the sound and my advice to them would be to invest in a good set of earphones (sennheiser cx500 are what i would recommend) as the ones that come with the ipod are not really up to much as well as that don't go changing the sound setting just leave the eq off. You wont find a better player that the ipod classic range it really is worth the price tag.

I'll be honest. I've avoided buying an iPod for years, as I don't like MAC's (just my opinion). I wanted something that could hold 8000+ songs for use in the car/train/plane and also to save searching through a stack of CDs in the lounge. iPod seems to be the best option based on quality/price. The device is nicely designed, and I like the touch wheel for navigation. The back of the case is highly shiny - and I guess would be prone to scratches (hence I have purchased a leather case for mine). Sound quality is good (although I recommend a high bit rate when ripping CDs). Like other reviewers, I too have changed the 'nasty' standard earphones. I can now listen to music anywhere, even connect to my home cinema system or in the car. I've stopped using the cd/hi-fi as I have all the music to hand. Like the title states - I'm converted!

Ipod got my ipod about 5 months ago and it has never failed me once, i keep all my music and vids on it. I will probabally never fill it up for it has so much space. I recomend the free "any video converter" for mp4 converting. And if it ever stalls hold middle and menu buttons. Unfortunetly there has not been an update for the new Genius software.
