Exactly what you would expect.. Does what you expect, but, dont think that you are charging the battery via the usb connection alone. One connection goes to the original plug adaptor and feeds into the ipod, then ANOTHER cable feeds off as the USB2 cable to your pc.Also alittle warning, if you swtich on your pc with the ipod still connected to the pc, their is a chance that it will stop the pc from booting up properly, my advice is to always disconnect the ipod before boot up, the reconnect it.

Ipod USB-Firewire. This is good and did the job because my computer did nbot have USB 2.0It work fine but the only problem is that it is very hard to pull out of the computer and I sometimes have to turn and pull it out by the wire!

Ipod Connector. This two-way wire has no real use... Just allows you to be lazy and not have to move your ipod around when you want to charge it when your computer is switched off... No real reason for it... Could have looked nicer...

Essential Purchase. Anyone who owns an iPod simply must buy this cable. As most iPod'ers will know, copying music on to your iPod seriously drains the battery life. Which means that instead of listening to your new music, you have to wait for your iPod to charge! This cable connects your iPod to your PC & to the main adapter allowing your iPod to be charged while you copy music. At this price (about a 3rd what you'll pay in the stores), it really is an essential purchase.

Stops the need to change cables all the time. Even with a dock you have to use a different cable to sync with PC, and a different one to charge. This cable allows you to do both from the same cable. You dont need a dock to use the cable, it can just plug into the bottom of the iPod. I got mine so the firewire plugs into my Charger unit (im from UK, i dont know if other countries it is different) and usb to my PC. If my computer is on or not, my iPod charges.
