Review or buy Belkin 802.11g Wireless G USB Network Adapter for Win 2000/ME/XP/Vista New & Used

I have an old latop that is a little slow anyway this product works well with this laptop but not sure how it would cope with anything faster

POOR, POOR, POOR. DO NOT BUY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY! I bought one of these some years ago, (from Amazon if I recall correctly). There was ONE major fault with this that resulted in a vociferous and angry complaint to Belkin. The problem was the first and last time I have ever encountered with a PC peripheral; namely whenever I removed the dongle from a USB port, the SOFTWARE UNINSTALLED ITSELF AUTOMATICALLY, meaning I had to reinstall the software from the CD taking 20 minutes or more each time from the CD, (drivers couldn't be found automatically via the windows auto-install feature), this proved VERY frustrating as I had limited USB ports. In the end I decided enough was enough; I sent Belkin an email telling them EXACTLY what I thought of their product. Needless to say the guy who replied gave me, 'instructions', that were TOTALLY useless and only added to my anger and frustration. I have NEVER bought, and never will buy Belkin products again. They really ARE very, very, very poorly designed and made. If you buy this particular product; EXPECT it to go wrong. I since bought a Toshiba device costing half as much and does a FANTASTIC job, it never needs reinstalling, and installs immediately for the first time via the windows update in seconds. CD not required. :)

Simple to install. Don't know why I didn't get one sooner. Replaced a very lengthy cable from study to bedroom and prior to that from bedroom along hallway and across livingroom floor - no comparison!!

Great product.Already had one connected to sons pc upstairs so i knew what i was buying and what it did.Very reliable little device.

bought to replace a Netgear Wireless adapter which gave a poor signal and constantly cut off from the Web. Belkin has given a far superior signal strength and has been constantly reliable. I have had this product for about 3 months. It worked fine for about a week. Then it started playing up and I would have to unplug it and then plug it back in every so often. Then it progressed so I would have to restart the computer, then it uninstalled itself and wouldn't wok when i reinstalled it. I have probably spent more time trying to get it to connect to the internet than actually being on the internet.

I recently upgraded to wireless around the home after purchasing a laptop, I bought a Belkin wireless router which I have not had any problems with and I needed a wireless adapter for my desktop. Belkin have not disappointed me with this well priced adapter. It is easy to use, the drivers come on the disk provided, and I have not had any problems with it since I bought it, which was some time ago now. It allows me to download at a good speed and runs my online game with no lag, even when there is a lot going on on screen. If you are after another adapter go for this, it is good value, easy to use and is very discreet for a desktop as you can plug it into a rear USB port. My only bugbear with it is that is white, I woulda liked a black one, hehe

Straightforward PnP installation. It's very light and has a tendency to fall off the desk/shelf due to the weight of the cable, so you'll have to be careful where you site it - but it works fine (even when it's hanging down by your feet!)

Well what a waste of money, won't connect wireless on 2 pc's under xp or vista, the router was 10 feet away and it won't see it, wireless on my mates laptop straight on, with it's on card built in, buy something else and avoid this like the plague, mines in the bin, best place for it to.

Easy to set up (even for someone who is a bit technophobic like me). Good range - picks up the signal anywhere in our house - even my sons bedroom which is quite a long way from the router with several walls in between. Would recommend and would buy again.
