Belkin 802.11g Wireless G USB Network Adapter for Win 2000/ME/XP/Vista

slotted straight in and works first time every time despite several solid walls in between

Plugged in to my dell pc, used xp to find the driver on the enclosed cd and was up an running in about 3 mins flat. Purchased in Oct 09 and still running Jan 2010 - perfect.

The featured product has poor range, and was not what I expected. Do not buy if you have thick walls, or large house! Had to return as disappointed with the item, as well as my original wireless USB came back to life

After upgrading to Windows 7 the card (or its drivers) are causing BSODs. Hopefully Belkin will release a working Win7 driver soon or I'll have to go buy something else. It was fine under XP ... fine if you only installed the bare driver files and not the Belkin bumph that came with it.

This adapter was bought by someone who was fixing our computer so naturally I thought it was a good one. It worked fine while we had a aol router quite often it would lose connection but not too bad. But then we changed our router and broadband to bt I thought it would be fine but the adapter just couldn't connect properly and wouldn't connect to the internet for more than a minute. THIS ADAPTER IS USELESS DON'T BUY IT. Recently I bought the bt voyager and it has been fantastic the connection never drops out and is so much better than the belkin.

Just bought a new one. The casing gets very hot. The last one worked for 6-7 months, then packed in, making the computer crash continually. I think the heat build up wrecks the electronics after a while. Will see how this one goes, but hot operation is not a good sign. Probably better to go for the N version, or another manufacturer. Agreed with others - DONT use the rubbishy Belkin software, just plug it in and use Windows to set up.

I have had this product now for over two years and have never had any problems at all. It was purchased along with my Vista desktop pc, and after plugging it in with the supplied usb cable and holder it worked straight away with no software installed etc. Sometimes when i have lost connection, i just take it out of the usb connector and put it back in, it than reconnects instantly. If connection is not made after doing this, i know that its the router that needs switching off and back on again.Like i said, no problems at all, just plug in and play.

Simple to set up if you have a reasonable knowledge of computers, works well and good value for money. Never had any problems with it in the last 6 months and if I had to buy another dongle it would be the first one I'd go to.

I am an IT literate person but this product does not work on Vista and causes the computer to crash. The Belkin helpline is misnamed because they cannot help. All they do is suggest you try it on another PC and mess that up too! I have probably wasted a day of my life trying to get this product to work. Do not buy it!!!

Having run a Belkin router / access point for a while I was keen to keep a matching USB adaptor of the same brand (for obvious reasons). I moved to Belkin from Buffalo (Buffallo had been good for ages then simply failed), so I replaced with a matching Belkin pair. I've had nothing but trouble with the adaptor (router seems ok), I had a V1 (non-Vista comp.) version and then bought a later version, updated the drivers, and regularly have problems maintaining a connection. Distance and channel are no issue, it's a quirky intermittent fault plain and simple. The good news is - I've since tried several of the cheapest USB adaptors 11g's and have not found one that fails nearly as often as the Belkin - in fact not had one fail! tells it's own story. My advice - steer clear of Belkin adaptors until the 'n' is fully released and tested, but for me I'm just going to steer clear of Belkin altogether... Also, for what its worth - avoid eBuyer too! Man they suck.... Amazon are so much better.... Good luck!
