Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7 Port Hub

Good looking hub with the convenience of both horizontal and vertical ports. This hub gets very hot and eventually burns out. Mine lasted 18 months.

Bought this hub in 2006. Worked instantly and perfectly for a couple of years up to mid 2008 before it gave up. As per other reviews, all peripherals working ok, so just the hub that stopped. So, would have been 5 stars if I'd sent a review within the 1st 2 years. Strangely enough I'm still tempted to get another one to replace it! - Maybe 2 years is a reasonable shelf life for something like this and at under £15 it's not bad value.

Nice hub, but has ceased working. All connected items are working so must be the hub. I did leave it powered up 24 hours per day.

I've had this hub a few months and now has an intermitent fault of losing power. Very annoying when using a printer. The principle is good, shame about the fault.

I've read several reviews on Amazon and noticed I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Everything worked fine for maybe a few weeks, then I noticed one day the hub was extremely hot. I had trouble getting it to recognise anything connected to it, then today, it stopped working all together. I tried all my peripherals directly into the usb port and they work fine, so it's the hub. What a disappointment. Avoid this product.

Suprised to see the various negativbe reviews below, certainly not my experience. I've used this for maybe 2 years on machines running both 2000 and XP. Installs itself without problems, and all works fine once there. Nice solid bit of kit, and with power supply. The 2 upright sockets are handy for cameras etc. i've 4 or 5 things plugged into the back and am alsways sticking things in and out of the top sockets. I don't think its ever caused me any problems at all.

Hmmm interesting to see all PC users having problems with this hub! Having to temporarily suffer Vista while waiting for my new Mac I can only say that the PC is probably the problem!! I have been using my Belkin hub with Mac OS X for 4 trouble free years on both iBooks and a G4. It simply works! Moral of the story is buy a Mac :-)

I had this for three months before my PC stopped recognising anything attached to it. Tried changing the cables, removing the power supply etc etc. All my usb deviced worked fine when attached directly to the computer. This hub was a waste of time.

After plugging the hub into my PC, it knocked out my modem and internet connection - even though the modem was plugged into the PC and not the hub. It also failed to be recognised by Windows and didn't pick up any of the devices that were plugged into it. I unplugged the hub and the modem / internet connection returned. I did this a couple of to be sure and each time the same thing happened. I did a Google search for problems related to this hub and found numerous oddities including other users who experienced the same modem / internet connection issue. I've returned the Belkin hub and now have a D-Link 7 port hub which so far is working fine.

Had this hub for about six months and this week it has stopped working. I really liked the design with the two easy slots on the top for pen drives and my network adaptor but while power is still received by the hub no items plugged into it work. Will have to replace it now and will be wary of buying another Belkin product.
