Belkin High Speed Wireless G+ Router

Had mine for about 2 years now and it runs 24 hrs a day, and I have used it with tiscally and talttalk. Never needs rebooted, completely flawless with handeling my 2 xp pc's, a vista laptop, 2 xbox 360's and a PSP. Allows port forwarding and is easy to configure, top marks.

Got this a while ago now and is working fine. Worked straight out of the box, plugged it in, plugged in the internet and hey presto wireless network! Just make sure you set up all the security (while plugged into the router with a network cable) so no one can steal your connection, I set up the encryption and MAC filtering on mine to make sure I'm secure.

It's recently come to light that Belkin have been uploading fake positive reviews for their products on Amazon and elsewhere - I wish I'd known this before buying this buggy piece of junk. I have to keep resetting it frequently, and it has problems with Windows Live / MSN Messenger. Belkin advertise it as 300m range - I absolutely don't beleive that, after 15m here I'm down to less than 40% signal. In short, don't buy products from this company, whose lack of engineering expertise is only matched by their lack of truthfulness.

Used with BT worked fine - problems began when I changed to talk talk , connection kept dropping had to be reset every 10 minutes - made downloading impossible, updated firmware - no better - set-up as advised by talk talk now it doesn't work at all and will not let me access the menu in order to change settings - won't be buying belkin again.

I bought this about a month ago and from day one its been fully functional and relatively kept the same speeds. It has however had one or two hic-ups where it has suddenly stopped sending a connection, but the problem is always easily addressed (restarting/shutdown). It has 4 ethernet ports and one for the phone cable. It doesn't overheat to the point of scolding but more a nice glowing... glow. I can't understand why so many users have had installation problems, because it was done in about half an hour for me using a Mac PowerBook G4 on a 1.1Mb connection. Perhaps Windows computers suffer a bit more, i don't know. The only real downsides are that the price isn't what you would call top-notch but rather average and there can be significant effects when used to split connections to multiple networks, especially if a user is on Xbox Live in which game-play will be effected. Downloads also slow down other users connections and Xbox Live, but in general it is a decent router.

bought this to replace my belkin adsl router when i changed to cable broadband almost a year ago now, and like the adsl version i owned it has never let my down works a treat and not rocket science to set up HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED *****

this product is well worth the money, it does not overheat, it does the job, and nothing has gone wrong with it and never will, definitely recommended.

I was worried about using one of these, but it was brilliant, straightforward. I managed to get contact first time and in no time at all.

I had this router and what i can say is this router suck.. The router keep reseting and sometimes make me cant connect to the internet. The only solution i can do is unplug than wire and reset everything again and again.. I really regret to get this item.

I bought this router after reading some positive reviews on Amazon (unfortunately i missed the review by P. Willis!), especially because i heard it was good with Macs. Unfortunately this is NOT the case. The installation CD only contained .exe files so couldn't be opened by my ibook, contrary to the Belkin manual which claims it would autorun on Macs (either they had packed the wrong CD or were just lying). I contemplated returning the product, but thought i'd give it a go on my PC. Unfortunately this didn't work either. The setup kept on asking to restart my computer and then not re-launching, thus the whole process had to be started again and then would stop after restart. After some fiddling around I managed to get past the reboot stage, but the connection could not be established despite me turning off my firewall, virus scanners etc. In addition to this, the setup CD actually differed in commands from those illustrated in the manual, which made things more complicated. The router pictured in the manual also looked completely different from mine, which was also annoying when it instructed me to look at certain lights and ports which were on the illustration and not on my router. Because of the poor standard of the manual and setup CD, i didn't even bother calling the helpline. The next day i returned the router to Amazon and bought an Edimax router which worked first time, in about 20mins. The setup process for that router was completely different from the Belkin one, but was far more logical and successful. The guy in the shop actually told me that Belkin are notorious for poor support and compatibility issues, so if you have a Mac, or PC for that matter, be aware of the compatibility issues which Belkin routers have!
