Belkin Mini Bluetooth Adapter * Class 2; 10M

I was reluctant to purchase the Belkin bluetooth adapter due to negative reviews with Windows 7. I took my chance with the purchase, and I'm pleased I did. It turns out my concerns were unfounded. The adapter works flawlessly under Windows 7. I simply plugged it in to a usb slot and waited until 7 installed its own drivers. The reason for 4 stars is the adapter sticks out from the side of my netbook more than I expected.

This type of product was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad I found the Belkin. A VERY reasonable price as the software is of course included, not just the USB adaptor. As for the setup, the instructions are clear. The only part that confused me was when it asks for the security code - I didn't realise you put it into the phone first whereas it seems to ask for it to go in the PC first. Once running though, very quick to start up again as it's in your system tray at the bottom of your screen. Overall, fantastic piece of kit :)

After being unable to get a generic 'mushroom' adapter to work under windows 7 64bit using any drivers (Blue Soleil included) I was pleased to find that this adapter installed first time without even using the supplied driver CD. It may be that I had suitable drivers already cached from previous installation attempts, but I believe that the Vista 64 bit driver on the CD would have worked anyway.

Unfortuneately this product is not compatible with HP laptop computers and therefore I sent it back. It might be an idea if you made it clear in your specification of this product that it does not work with HP Laptops.

This is completely useless with Windows 7. From the install CD "The utility enables you to see and connect to Bluetooth devices". Really? There is no utility available in the Program list. In Program Files there is an admin utility which doesn't run under Windows 7 so no way to add my bluetooth mouse. No support for this device on the Belkin website! Tried two installs (cleaned up PC after uninstalling it) but still no go. So cheap to buy I didn't bother returning it, just threw it away! Chris

I bought this adapter with some trepidation as I had previously read a review that said it did not work with Windows 7 x64. Having installed it today I can comfirm this is true...if you use the drivers on the included CD. However if you download updated drivers from http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/detail/p/1837 although they don't are supposedly only for Vista and XP, the Vista 64 bit drivers work perfectly on Windows 7.

Really easy to use, although I don't think I needed the software on the CD as Windows 7 seemed to take the device quite happily. Took a couple of restarts before it really kicked in, although this may have had more to do with the device that I was trying to sync - Palm Tungsten T3. All now working fine and, as Bluetooth seems to be the only way to use a Palm with Windows 7 64 bit, this low cost product has saved me having to scrap my Palm and the huge amount of data stored on it!

I have a desktop PC running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit but was particularly taken with the Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard 6000 so got this to communicate with it. It does not work at all (the keyboard is fine, it is picked up by my laptop immediately). The unit appears to be functioning correctly as device manager says it is working fine. It will not connect to my BlackBerry either so it's not a limited connection issue. It's not the fact it's too close to my wi-fi router as the netbook has no issues in exactly the same location as the dongle. There is zero support for this on the Belkin website other than the drivers which are a) supplied with the unit, and b) not needed on Windows 7. This is worse than useless for me as now I have some expensive but useless kit to go with it. Unfortunately there is little else available on Amazon so looks like I have a trip to PC World to try and resolve this.

This was the third usb dongle that I bought to connect my Dell keyboard and mouse after my first one broke. It took a while to load the drivers (so be patient) but once the drivers were loaded it worked perfectly (on a Vista PC) and I havent had a single problem since. Highly recommended
