Belkin Wireless Cable G Router 54Mbps + 4 Port 10/100 Switch

Had previous D Link cable router which worked for 2 years but then stopped. Gave this one a try and despite the small price is as good if not better than the D Link. Simple to get started and seems to work as well as expected. Internet explorer does freeze from time to time but a minor problem which can be got round by closing programme and restarting. Worth the money.

I bought this item as a set complete with a wireless dongle and at no time did these recognise each other. I could detect other signals in the area and I could connect with my laptop to the router but never the twain met. I eventually had to buy a PCI kit that worked instantly so I have no idea what was wrong with the package. As with other reviewers I have problems with signal strength, drop outs, variable speed and range as my desktop is only six or seven feet away so I am on the verge of binning it as I have just bought a wirelass adaptor for my son's 360 and it can't see the router for love or money. Just avoid. There must be better products out there that are more reliable.

works fine, doesnt drop out if you set it up like the easy instuctions tell you to. no problems works a treat and has good coverage. brought this one to replace a netgear router that just wasnt strong enough to send the signal hope this helps

I bought this Belkin G router a couple of years ago and have had endless problems with it. It has worked reliably for short periods of time but, as many other reviewers here have said, it repeatedly cuts out and I lose my internet connection so if I'm in the middle of doing something, trying to download, etc, the computer will just freeze and it's impossible to continue. At times it has cut out every few minutes which is totally exasperating and has meant it's almost impossible to use the internet when connected to the router. When it does cut out it needs rebooting which is very time wasting and frustrating when it needs doing every few minutes because the router constantly cuts out. Also, the Belkin helpline is an 0845 number which can be expensive to call and when I've had to call the calls are never quick so you could easily be on the line to one of their people for half an hour or more with no guarantee of a problem being resolved long-term. As it seems this router has known problems I think Belkin should take it off the market because it doesn't seem fit to do what it's supposed to do. Overall I would recommend anyone to avoid this router like the plague! I'm now having to think about getting a new router because this one is so horribly unreliable and I doubt very much I'll be getting another Belkin one. It seems a Linksys or Netgear one would be a much better bet and wouldn't cost much more money than this one. I don't think anything could be much worse than this awful router!

This product is easy to set up and easy to use. I would not recommend it for anything bigger than a 2/3 bed house - as I think you will lose connectivity with the number of walls and over a relatively short distance and would go with something with a better range. It offers all the usual securtiy and has been good so far. I would recommend for first time wirelss users who are going to only be 1 or 2 rooms away from the router.

Unfortunately I can not review this product as it was uncompatible with my computing system. I emailed Valutech, who I made the purchase from, and was advised I could return it for a refund. After paying to post it back to the company I am still waiting for a refund three weeks later. I have contacted the company four times since returning the item but can not even get a reply to an email now.

We are staying with family in the UK and this router is the worst ever. We never buy Belkin so did not realize how bad it was. I am looking at it right now and the wireless says it is on and working but I can only connect via ethernet cable. It works fine for a few days then we cannot connect to the wireless at all for a day or so. I noticed it dropping it in and out right when our family member purchased it about a year ago, when we would be chatting over the internet she would go in and out. I figured it was the isp but now I am guessing it was because she was connecting wirelessly to this router. I am online now shopping for another brand. We normally only buy Netgear ourselves so that is what I am looking for to replace this one.

This router works very well, the instructions are easy to follow, no problems with installation and no problems with connection once hooked up. I get an excellent signal from the router anywhere in the house. I would highly recommend this product.

I use the virgin media cable package, I plugged this in and followed the instructions, it worked perfectly and has been running perfectly since.

Having had Belkin's ASDL combined modem+router when I lived at my previous house I decided to buy this for my new house with its NTL internet connection. Installtion was far more difficult than I remembered for the ASDL combined modem & router version and this one only has a router - it should have been easier! After about 3 hours I managed to get a connection. Although connection last for a less than an hour at a time....the router randomly cuts out and dumps the wireless and internet connections, you can't even use it as a wired router as it would continually dump me off of my wired connection to my PS3 - very annoying during online gaming! Telephone support was non-existent, the line is always busy! just avoid this product and purchase something that works...Life is just toooooo short for rubbish like this.
