Why they ever stopped making this I can't fathom.... Buffy and Angel are 2 of the best TV series EVER to grace our screens. I'm not sure I need to write much more than that, that pretty much covers it, but I've started, so I'll finish. If you brush aside the occasionally teen-drama-esque attributes of the first couple of seasons, you'll find a fantastic plot, even better characters and a lethal cocktail of witty interchanges and dramatic moments that will have you howling with laughter one minute and reaching for your kleenex the next.
My personal favourite seasons are 2 and 6, but to fully appreciate their magnificence, you need to be engrossed in the series, so buy this box set. I promise you, it's infinitely more entertaining than anything you'll find on TV nowadays (with the possible exception of Blood Ties and Heroes, but even Blood Ties looks to be out of production now).

Great show - series two transfer problems in this version. I won't venture to review the show - you doubtless know you like it if you are considering the box set and there are academic journals, internet forums, and books devoted to it. 200 words will not add to the debate.
I bought this and am watching my way through it (nearly finished now) and I love it. My only problem has been with the season two transfers which suffer from compression artefaction. I don't know whether this is common to all versions or simply this full set that I bought. It is particularly noticeable during dark / night / underground scenes i.e. a lot of the time given the nature of this show. It's not quite like looking at it in YouTube but it IS a little irritating. Perhaps the other full series box set does not suffer from this problem.

A Classical Show!. Buffy use to be a show that i just use to watch from time to time not understanding a thing about what was going on in the storyline but just watched it cos the action and comedy was great! Until realizing how attached i had got to Buffy, then i went an bought this and WOW is it a spectacular show! Storyline is fantastic in some seasons and the action is always great also the comedy is amazingly funny at times. As you go through the seasons you see how much all the characters change and the storylines get much darker and more emotional which keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more! Buffy started off very well and finished even better with 7 seasons to keep you entertained daily you'll find yourself becoming more and more attached to the show and to the characters an by the end you'll feel satisfied that you bought all such fantastic seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Fang-Tastic Way to Watch them All!. Being a strong fan of Buffy, and watching it for many years, I was delighted with the thought of owning the complete collection on DVD! I recieved it as a gift and I am thrilled to be able to watch any episode with ease without the need to rewind and fastforward to the correct posititon, as with my Buffy Videos. The sound quality and the picture quality on these DVD's is phenomenal, it really looks like the TV version, with stereo sound! The navigation is great and really well thought out, with four episodes per disk and the bonus features are definitely worth watching, as they reveal a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that you may nto have known before.
Also, part of this collection that makes it so fantastic is the delicious packaging design. It is packed like a shoebox, with a slide off lid and small 'books' for each season. There are about 4 episodes to a disk.
I was unfortunate enough to recieved a slightly damaged copy, however, with the box top slightly ripped and a few bumps and dents inside-and the spokes that the DVD's were held in were broken, so the disks had fallen out and some were scratched. However, amazon have been extremely helpful with this issue and have allowed me to quickly get an exchange. Once aagin i am incredibly impressed with amazon.co.uk and their quality support service, and this package is definitely worth it for any Buffy fan, old or new, get the collection with added bite!

Exceptional series, with extraordinarly talented writer/director Joss Whedon. Where shall I start... The first time I saw Buffy was by chance really. I was playing with the remote control, not knowing what to watch, when I stopped and saw a random episode from season 2 with Buffy and Angel. The episode was called : "Halloween". From then, I started to watch it everyweek as it was so gripping. Buffy differs from every other teen series as Joss Whedon makes it so mature, and interesting. It is not a unique genre. Throughout the series you find action, comedy, drama, metaphors, adventure, sex, and love. Buffy is often mistaken for something silly like a blonde girl with superpowers, and a silly name who fights vampires...How lame does that sound, right? But no, don't be mistaken...It is so much more. The vampires and all that are just metaphors for our inner monsters, and demons. The series depicts how hard life is in high school and how it can be hard for different people in different ways. It goes on after that showing that life in itself is hard, and shows how it feels to be an independent adult. Some serious themes happens in the Buffyverse. What I found particularly special is how characters grow, such as the one of Alison Hannigan playing Willow. She is depicted in season 1 as a nerd, who then becomes a powerful young woman. Or Xander who never went to college, but has an emotional intelligence, stronger than anyone. The fact that he sees everything is so important as it is painfully taken away literally from him by the priest Caleb in season 7. It also shows that very intelligent people, or academic more likely tend to be the more fragile. The metaphors of the drug addiction in season 6 with Willow was very real, and done in a exceptional way never seen before. The all of season 6 depicts very sordid elements of life. This boxset is the best series as each season, and each episode is so different, exploring each time various existentialist themes dealing with universal ones. Season 1 is not the best, as it is still childish (they start when Buffy is 16, and it ends when she is 22) However, it is worth watching it from the start. I think it is important to see all the episodes to understand fully the depth of this series as old stories are repeated. These characters are very real, and it is easy to identify with aspects of their personality. What I love about Buffy, is that she is human, and she wishes to be "a normal girl." She was "chosen", but she is not perfect. Her emotions, and the depiction of what she feels are played admirably by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The "demons" characters are interesting too in the sense that "villains" are not always bad, and "goodies" are not always good. This is again an aspect which is very true in real life. Joss Whedon created something unique that can be seen and analysed again and again. As he says he would "rather have 100 who need to watch the show, than 1000 who like to watch it." Joss Whedon was the first director to make a musical episode (Once more with feeling season 6), a silent one (Hush season 4), and a one with no sound (The Body season 5). If you haven't seen buffy from the beginning to the end you are truly missing something. This is truly a work of art.
