You can barely move for racing games on the PSP, which wouldn?t normally be a problem except almost all of them are excellent. It?s not a launch title, but Burnout Legends is looking like being an obvious must-have for anyone who?s ever wanted to be a dangerous driver but been held back by a social conscience.Relatively little has been seen of the game so far, bar a short playable demo which demonstrated a highly impressive level of graphic detail that makes it look just like Burnout 3: Takedown. In fact, the game will, rather like Ridge Racer, be a sort of "best of" compilation of features from all the previous Burnout games, including tracks from Burnout 1, 2 and 3. A total of nine gameplay modes are promised, including the infamous Crash, Pursuit, Burning Lap, Road Rage, Eliminator, Race, Time Attack, Legends Face-Off and Legends GP. Four of these (Race, Crash, Pursuit and Road Rage) can be played in wireless multiplayer mode with up to four people. One other interesting element is that each game will ship with five cars out of a random selection of twenty-five -- with the other twenty only being unlocked as you play opponents in multiplayer. To be honest, a port of one of the previous games would have been fine for most people, but this looks like being a lot more than just that.

Portable Mayhem!. When I recently came into money, I was in 2 minds. Should I get Loco Roco or Burnout for PSP? Despite not being sure how well BURNOUT would transfer to a smaller format,I stuck with my old favourite, and bought the latter.
I need not have worried. Ever since that moment I have not been able to get the disk out of my PSP. Every time I go to play Wipeout or Daxter or other classics I decide to play just one more race or one little game of Road Rage.
Fans of Burnout and newbies alike will love this game. It perfectly captures the essence of Burnout - the sense of speed is obvious, but it also manages to scale it down to fit the smaller PSP. It is quite easy to stary off with, but soon it gets harder. Thanks to this, there is a real sense of achievement when you get a takedown or win a race. Getting a takedown on a rival is the best feeling in the world. Legends combines the assets of Burnout Revenge with the classic points from Burnout Takedown to create an amazing Best Of Burnout game that fits perfectly on the PSP.
You can visit old classis tracks or go to new ones across the world. There are some real gems of game modes - Pursuit is my favourite, when you play as a cop and you have a time limit to smash up a criminal's car to get the medal.
A couple of minor niggles are that the radio and the commentary is virtually non-existent, and sometimes the game can be too repetitive or unreaslitic. However the tunes are great as always, and it is easily the best pick-up-and-play game around.
Overall, the game will be loved by people new to Burnout as it is a fun, easy introduction to a great racing series, but will also be appreciated massively by the many fans of Burnout, just like myself, who will thoroughly enjoy this best of Burnout compilation.
Well worth the money, this is up there with the best on PSP.

Perfect for a handheld. Despite not having a massive library of titles, there as some excellent games on the PSP. Recent purchases include Socom and Syphon Filter. Whilst these are impressive games, looking at least as good as a PS2 counterpart they suffer from the fact that every button on the PSP has to be used. So if you don't play for a few days you will have forgotten exectly which sequence alters the weapon, how to crouch, how to bring up the Infra Red goggles, etc. Burnout however is excellent because it's not as arcadey as Ridge Racer so it has a little depth, but isn't as technical as Toca and so isn't as frustrating. It's great for just picking up and having a play without having to recall the control system. But it's fun enough that you can spend all afternoon on it, battery permitting.

* What a game*. Well, the burnout series has now been ported to the psp system! And what a game it is. It just the same as the PS2 version as it shares the same thrill and excitment, but now on a handheld console. It is one of them games that you can just pick up and play. And an added edition to the already fantastic game is the feature to gameshare a level so you and your friend can play with one umd. It immedidiatly outshines other psp racing titles such as ridge rider and wipeout pue which was supposed to be fast , but failed to live up to it. And with the added frame rate of the psp it look just as fast and slick as the original. Although the frame rate is good it lacks when your car slows down and can be a bit blocky but overall this is probably the best psp racer to date, and totally outshines any other racer that is out there!
