Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3)

all of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is just as awesome as the first one. The only thing i did not like was that the game was just way to short compared to the first one and that's why i did not give it 5 stars. Like i said on my EA Sports review game designers are working way to fast on these games and just not putting enough in them for what we the consumer pay for them.

This game is endless fun! The attention to detail is impressive: the details on the weapons, the sounds, the soldiers kits, the maps, etc. You will be playing this game over and over and never get tired of it. A must have for the serious gamer.

Game is nice but the single player campaign may last less than 6 hours, which makes it a rather expensive game.

Excelent game, it's fantastic to see how you can kill everyone! You feel like you would be within the movie The Gamer.

If you are looking for a single player game this is not for you. The single player aspect of this game is a shockingly short 5.5 hours - unbelievably for a game that costs this much. Not only is it short but it is poorly written and inconsistant. It is not a patch on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 - now that was short but not this short and at least it had a coherent story line and characters you could genuinely feel for. There are lots of weapons to pick up and use but there is little to differentiate them - they all feel the same and do the same - you just want the ones with the most ammo so you can keep going longer. The graphics are good but not fantastic - very little difference to the first edition. In some areas they are quite poor - next time you're in the snowy mountains take a closer look at the tree canopy's - are they lovingly crafted 3d models ? - no they are 2d images stuck on planes set at angles - games publishers have beeing doing that for years. It feels that the single player game was just tagged onto this product with little thought or effort. The online multiplayer game is however an improvement on the previous version. No longer can players survive be hitting by round after round of ammo and survive. A quick accurate burst of fire and you will die - in fact you will die alot. The online maps seem much more frantic and faster this time but there have been problems with players camping certain spots to get easy kills. But after a while you may find the online game getting just a litte repetitive. Overall an underwhelming game that should be sold simply as an online experience - the single player mode is so bad/short it really should be dropped from the next instalment.

I played COD Modern Warfare 1 and was soooo much looking forward to playing this game. It was purchased for me at Christmas and it has taken me until the end of February to complete it. Why?????? because Ii just didn't enjoy the game and it didn't draw me to play it. I wanted this game to be good as the first but it just wasn't. Sorry but for me this game is nothing more than just above average.

The problem with this game is that it rewards pure mediocrity, which takes the fun completely out of it. The single player game is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but this slips up big time in multi-player, the main selling point. People with little skill can 'camp' and just kill at will and are THEN rewarded with perks allowing them to kill more, such the gunships. Ridiculous! There's also the issue with the weapons. You shoot someone point blank with an AK-47, hit them and yet they survive. The complete opposite happens when they hit you...one shot and you're dead. The same with RPG's. Fire them in the vicinity of anyone and they should do some damage. Not with this. They survive, run up and either shoot you or use the knife. Apparently you can also be shot through solid walls when the person firing cannot even see you! Anyone planning to buy this rubbish. Think again. Buy a copy of any of the earlier COD games as they were much more fun and far more realistic.

Having only previously owned a PS1 which has been sitting in the attic for some years now, when I got the PS3 and MW2 recently I can't tell you just how much my life's been totally consumed by this game! I've got a 9 to 5 job and a pretty decent social life, and I hope to maintain both as time goes on. But nowadays, in any given minute of the day I find myself thinking about strategy, how to increase kill streaks, the best spots on each map, how to avoid or find the campers and boosters, and generally all things MW2. For a guy brought up on the ZX Spectrum 48k, I suspect that a great deal of those reviewing here are just a little bit too complacent about how outstanding this game is, how lucky we are to have genius geeks gathering together and creating games like this, and why comparisons with other PS3 FPS games are simply irrelevant. Once I trained on the campaign and started levelling up on multiplayer I've never looked back. I don't cheat, and don't really care if anyone else does. I just enjoy it for myself - the graphics, the energy, the way you have to adapt to every map and circumstance - and get a kick whenever I increase my rank, get a seemingly impossible longshot and gradually notice how much better I've been getting as time goes on. But don't listen to me. Don't listen to the critics who, for the most part, don't appreciate the work that's gone into this game and simply project their opinions about other games on the understanding that if you don't agree with them, you're wrong! If you're into first person shooters, given the more recent lower price I think this title deserves a try, and if you don't end up agreeing with me that it'll change your entire way of thinking for a while, you can always trade it in. Kid love it and I've even whiled away a few hrs blasting my way around the world. Good graphics, sound and controls

it is stupid how many places there are for people to camp, and the shotguns are even worse you can kill someone at 50m+ thjats just plain stupid a doble barrled will kill at about 30m everyone knows that, thats not possible. i was playing on terminal nd accidently shot using the first shotgun and got a kill i coundnt even see the guy he was miles away , also the ability to shoot through metal is stupid wood or glass yes but metal, also they have gone to far with damage COD4 and 5 didnt have enough damage about 5-6 shots to kill this is 2-3 and with a heavy machine gun just camp and a 10-15 kill streak is easy this game was porly thought ot and the graphics everyone sez are good but check out uncharted 2 they are unbelivible and the campagin flows, sometimes you dont even notice you are on the next mission, the campagin on uncharted 2 is the best i have ever played and is my favorite game( done campagn 4 times once on each difficuty) BUY UNCHARTYED 2 INSTEAD LOTS BETTER THE ONLINE HAS NOWERE TO CAMP AND IS GENERALY MUCH BETTER
