Cesar's Way: The Natural, Everyday Guide to Understanding and Correcting Common Dog Problems

I have just finished reading this book and found it a brilliant insight into how a dogs mind works and how, due often to our lack of understanding, we are the ones who create a lot of our dogs problems. Its not just 'how to fix your dog' more how to understand your dog, how its mind works in a very different way to ours and what it needs to make it happy and healthy, as well as advice and guidance to help you achieve this.

I was never particularly a dog lover but after watching the Dog Whisperer on TV, now understand dogs more and have even been to my local shelter to see about rescuing one! I purchased this book last weekend, after visiting the rescue centre, and haven't been able to put it down! It's a real eye opener to me - it has great humour, it's informative in an uncomplicated way and it tells you what dogs really are about, their DNA and basically, what makes them tick. I think Cesar has changed people's perceptions of dogs for the better and this book compliments what he teaches in his tv programme. A great read!

I have just finished reading this informative,funny and helpful book that gives an insight to the canine mind that is quite remarkable.Cesar really does seem to have an innate connection with dogs of all shapes and sizes and the rather spiritual nature of the book appealed to me- connecting with my dog via energy and seeing her respond to that has been amazing to witness. This book is easy to read, non-judgemental and not preachy like other dog 'training' books I have flicked through! I shall be reading others in the series very shortly!

What can you say about Cesar, he is a one of the planets greatest treasures. This book is a great work book for anyone who wants to understand their dog and their self better. Simple clear advise and understanding from a great teacher.

Very good read. It gives loads of insight into his background. I really like the fact that he explains the why and he has gone as far back as his childhood to explain/show his approach for dealing with issues and why he uses that approach. It is very easy to read, he's got a good sense of humour and I really enjoyed it!

Whether you agree or disagree with Cesar, this was a good read and full of tips. It's up to you if you use them or not. I find a lot of what he says works for me.

very exited about buying cesar's book as loved his tv show but the book is more about dog behaviour as a whole and not about training . Some chapters on training but not very clear and and not supported with pictures . Hard to flick through to get back to a specific point. However, an enjoyable read about cesar's early life but not too much use as a training tool.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my mum and she absolutely loves it. It gives excellent practical advice for dealing with dogs and where you might be going wrong with discipline etc.He also talks of his experiences with celebrities and how he worked with them. A truly great read!

I stopped reading it after the first few pages, so am probably not the best person to write a review. However, it seemed to me that Cesar babbled on more about him, his success and how well he is doing. He also focussed on how his success with his dogs was a lot to do with the lifestyle he can maintain, well not all of us can live the way he lives or are as fit, healthy and active. By all means bye the book and read on, but if you can't get out for hours on end running around the hills and valleys and can lavvish endless time on your four legged friend then the book is not for you.

I enjoyed the book, it gave me more of an insight into how dogs brains work. I understood a lot more about the pack leader. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a section on 'how to train the dog' but I will look at some of his other books and see if he has one to teach me how to teach the dog.
