The Best Sporting Video Ever. Can someone PLEASE tell me how I can get this on DVD?!? Its the best sporting video of all time - bar none - well, ok Once Upon a Lifetime about New York Cosmos comes close.
I've been (un)lucky enough to sit in dug-outs and manage in non-league & this video gave us a number of catch phares that were used on a weekly basis as we cruised the Suburban League with a young but talented side. "Les demand it..." was something of a favourite. "No, Nigel I want you to pass the ball..."
The refereeing performance against Holland is legendary - have there ever been worse officials?
If you are even half way interested in football - you MUST own this... I doubt we'll ever see a DVD version, so I'll have to keep my VCR!! Brillant

The most hilariously funny documentary you will ever see!. The most hilariously funny documentary you will ever see!
At first you will think it is a comedy voice over spoof as this cross between Alan Partridge and David Brent bumbles his way to inevitable failure shadowed by the yes men of Phil Neal and Laurie Mcmenemy, echoing his every word parrot fashion for extra comic effect. Add the chuckle brothers (Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne and Carlton "what you doing playing for England" Palmer) and what you have here is pure comedy gold. You will cry with laughter, gasping for breath unable to believe this is real!. The video will be the prize of your collection and you will make all your friends watch it and they will thank you for this is comedy gold. Ricky Gervais could not write a better script, again THIS IS NOT A SPOOF.

The tragic hero??. I watched this video having already formed an opinion of Graham Taylor and his time as the England manager, which it has to be said wasn't a very favourable one!
However, I have to say that I felt myself feeling more and more sorry for Taylor as it goes on. He comes across as a decent bloke who's trying to hold things together when everything around him is crashing into ruin. Whilst he often gets critisized for his performance as manager (some of which is fair) he hardly had the 'golden generation' of English players to choose from, anyone remember Carlton Palmer? The fact he was so unlucky also adds to my pity for the man, he lost Alan Shearer to injury for virtually his entire qualifying campaign and watched the best performance of his time (Against Holland) not be rewarded due to incompetent refereeing.
This is a hilarious and often frightening insight into the most senior managers job in the country and how brilliantly amatuerish the situation often is. Watch it, seriously. You won't be able to decide between laughing and crying.

England at its best. Graham Taylor was one of the worse football managers in English football history. This wonderful fly on the wall documentary depicts Grahams early days when his babble completely confuses the average English footballer all the way through to his farcical end, losing in Holland after a few dodgy referee decisions. These decisions sends Graham rushing from his dugout and in one of the funniest ever football moments, Graham actually shouts to the German 4th official..." your mate (pointing to ref) has just cost me my job.... A classic of its time
