Disappointing. I have been a fan of ER for years and thought what a stroke of brilliance it was for a game to be released based on the show. I enjoyed playing the game, it was slightly too simple in some places (patient diagnosis and treatment) and some tasks seemed pointless and a waste of time. You start the game as a new intern working through 36 hour shifts in an episode format. Each 'episode' in the game takes around 50 minutes to play. When you get to the end of the 5th episode (i think)all the doctors in the hospital tell you how impressed they are with you and you have to speak to the main patients you have treated, once you complete this mind numbingly simple task a box comes up and tells you you have become a full doctor, great i thought more adventures ahead! Wrong you just get dumped back on the main menu and if you wish to play you have to start from scratch again. Not what i was really hoping for after hours of playing. But good fun while it lasted.

Customer Review 1

Good game, but keeps crashing . I enjoyed playing the game, it's not as interesting or challenging as I hoped but fine on a dull day, but I have attempted to play it on 2 different PC's and on both the game has crashed and I have had to start from the beginning as even if I had saved well beforehand when it gets to the same point where it crashed it happens again. Other than frustrating me a lot it's a decent enough game

Customer Review 2

How Much Does This Game Suck?. This is one of the worst games I have ever played. I remember a long time ago a game called Life and Death, The Brain which was really exciting, you got to perform real cyber operations and it was informative, instructive and fun. I thought ER was going to be more of the same. Big mistake! I've only played this for half a day but that was more than enough. I know it's not supposed to be the real thing, but curing patients in a game like this should require a bit more thought and reasoning than waving your hands above the patient like you're casting some kind of spell. And the interface is truly awful. Doctors walk through the walls and furniture as well as round and round in circles for no other reason than bad programming as far as I can see. The controls aren't terribly intuitive, and at the end of playing this, I realised I'd wasted a couple of hours of my life that I'd never get back. In short this is a game to not just avoid but run a mile from. Truly awful.

Customer Review 3

ER- the game??. Although this has made an effort to stick to the main sort of idea of the program, it still falls a bit flat. i was expecting to actually have to heal my patients. instead, my character just sort of waved its hands sand the person was cured. 5 repetitive levels dont help, and why would a busy ER doctor have time to talk to nurses about the weather? despite this, it gets more stars because of the good voiceovers, references to characters in the show, and because the models of actors look like the real person.

Customer Review 4

Disappointing. There are many things wrong with this game. There's no "help" feature and the tutorial only tells you about 1/4 of what you need to know to play the game well. The controls, icons and functions or buttons are not explained at all, you have to work it out for yourself. There isn't even a paper guide with the CD Rom. The way the characters walk is very annoying, they sometimes turn around and around and walk through objects just to get somewhere two feet away from them. The missions are not thought out well at all. For example, in the second level there is a mission where you must diagnose all the patients in the waiting room and decide which room to send them to, based on the severity of their illnesses. This lasts 10 game hours, which are very long. Your energy, composure and hygeine levels are depleted until almost nil, but you have to keep on diagnosing or you lose the game. Many of the patients coming in can't be diagnosed and require lab tests, but you can't send more than 3 to the lab at once, so sometimes it is actually impossible to win this mission, if too many of them need lab tests. On top of this mission you have to take care of two other patients. This is hard because you must stay in the Waiting Room assessing patients, you're almost collapsing from exhaustion and when your needs are low, you're a bad doctor. Over all, this game is disappointing. It seems badly thought out. Not only is it not like the TV series but it's nothing like being a doctor either. You do not see lab tests or symptoms, the game automatically diagnoses patients. Some problem solving and logic skill would have been nice. The tutorial is very poor and needs to be much less vague. A help feature would be nice, or at least an explaination for what you're looking at. It's fun for an hour or so, but it simply gets boring and frustrating.
