Average game. I made the mistake, a couple of years ago, of buying championship manager and never really got to grips with it so I bought Premier league manager 2002. Year on year I bought the EA sports management sim game because the databases of top teams have on the whole been accurate as far as the 1st team players were concerned and haven't been disappointed with the game play. However when it comes to the Rest of Europe in terms of managers, chairmen and backroom staff there's no research and you even have to put the names of the managers and chairmen of the Premier League and Championship etc. The only other thing that annoys me is that Youth team system which should have accurate info about the youth team players of the respective teams instead of just creating the players at the startof a new game. The one thing that is an improvement is the difficulty level which you can increase. But be warned, when you've increased it you can't reduce it again! You can, if you want to, change the stability of the board of directors - Long-term planning, Patient, Average, impatient, or insane. Not yet tried insane but expect that you'll be out of a job in 3 matches if you don't win!!
Overall I think this is the best Management sim game around but could still be improved. What I would like to see back again is being able to purchase shares in bluechip co's, more involvement in personal life and higher pay from the board when you start as Manager/head coach.

This Suits Some But Not Others! Decide For Yourself....... Fifa 07 Manager is a good game but its for more people who don't want much of a challange or who don't want a really tactical game. You get to choose what sort of game you want though e.g. Very Easy, Easy, Normal and Hard. This game also lets you manage a country and club at the same time unlike FM. Another great feature is that you have a whole personal life section where you can see you marital status, your family tree, Tells you how much fortune you have, lets you choose from buying cars, houses, luxury eqipment and lots more. It even give's you the option if you want to play golf for crying out loud. Now that feature is one of the greatest in this game. Also in the facilities section you can build loads of things around your training camps like car parks, theme park, flats and airports! It really does give a wide choice! You also can open youth camps in America, Canada, Africa and places like that. Watching a match in 3-D is also brilliant especially when the clubs actually have the right kits and badges and the players look like they do in real life! But if you don't want to view it in 3-D or if you just fancy something different you can view the game in text mode which gives you oppertunitys during the game to either tell the player to pass or shoot or even where to place a penalty. theres also Vid mode or just plain instant results. There is also a great internet feature where its like a sports website and gives you all the gossip, latest scores which appears at least once a week. The layout and smartness of the game is pridictable from EA- Perfect. A really well presented game as usual. There's still a lot I haven't commented on as there is so much in this game that is really good.
But now on to the cons.
This game takes up quite alot of time. For people who don't want to wait around choose the quick start option at the start as it takes nearly a full day of playing to actually reach your first couple of matches in the Premiership but it may take less time in different leagues. Everyday at the end of the day of whenever you click "proceed" after youv'e read your messages or whatever the Weekly Progress screencomes up and it says latest transfers and things like that, what thte team are doing in training, Team news and you can also choose from a list to see whose is the best fitness out of your league, whos the best attendance, who has scored the most and the table. A fair ammount but the time it takes to load to the next day or next match (depending on which you decide) there really isn't enough to do. The game also does'nt have the real manager names like chelsea's manager is Jimmy Roberts. What I miss compared to FM is that you can't make comments about or to the other managers either. Also the game is slightly over complicated. Like in the tranfer window you have to go through about three different things to just view the player you searched! Its a game where like a hour before you have to go somewhere there is no point playing it as you would just about get through one game. It does take up a lot of time.
Overall its a good game that suits me because I don't like hard games or difficult ones.Depending if you like its style is up to you. Although there is a few things that I would like to change in it, I still would prefer it compared to all the others.
But 4 Stars in total from me.

Hate it or Love it! I Hate it.. Hey, I was a massive fan of fifa manager 06 and as soon as I found out that this game was coming out I hurried off to my local asda and purchased this game for a retail price.
Before this I've studied the screenshots on the EA web-site and there were about 12 of them showing some new features and at the end we were promissed much more. Well, unfortunately there wasn't anything new there that wasn't on the screenshots. I was really dissapointed. It didn't improve much from 2006 version at all.
The rare leagues still have wrong league names, player names, even team names.
Comparing to 2006 version we don't even have real managers now, I was appalled that I wasn't able to compete with Greats like Jose and Sir Alex instead I saw names of Billy Bobkins and Luke McLaughlan, well I made up the names, because I don't actually remember the names. Good thing it came with a legitimate database editor this time.
Finally I thought to myself I'd be able to turn this game around and make it really fun. However you can not change team badges so the greats like CSKA Moscow would end up with stripy-red triangle for a badge and the faces and pictures are of 3-4 year ago. You can't add player pictures, team badges, fan chants, new adboards, league sponsors and badges, coaching staff and manager pictures, etc.
Worst of all when you change a league size the league doesn't appear in the selection. Oh well, never mind that, it is still ok and I was so glad to, again, find out there were no cheats to the game. However, I spent a few hours playing it and found a massive flaw in the game.
If you bid maximum ammount of money for the player and then click the change option, you change to a 0 and the player transfers for free subject to agreeying terms.
But then as all of the contracts for players are wrong I got Thierry Henry in a free transfer for Aberdeen in the start of the second season having paid him millions in signing fee. But then I thought to myself Aberdeen are currently in a massive debt. And there is no chance ever that Thierry Henry would come to Aberdeen having decided not to go to Barca earlier this season. But even then in the first place Aberdeen start off with 15mil in profit and it's quite easy to double that in a season.
But anyway I played the game without enjoying it too much. But one fine afternoon I got my internet finally back on. With the automatic update it downloaded I.E. 7 and ever since I am not able to play this game. I followed the instructions of uninstalling I.E. 7 and reinstalling I.E. 6, however it didn't work. And even then why do I have to compromise my experience on internet just to play a game.
Anyway I all forgot about it...
However I kept searching for a solution to my problem and was appalled when I found that "The Dirrty Greasy ..." People from EA germany have launched an expansion pack to the game called "EXTRA TIME". I appeal to you all not to purchase this game or the expansion pack.
P.S. This game is not better than the previous one but even worse. There aren't any significant changes to it and if you download the database editor for fifa manager 06 you can make it just as good as this one. It is too easy to win, takes up a lot of fun, if takes ~30 minutes to watch one game and you don't even realise that it takes about 1hr 30min-2hr to actually reach the first league match.

The worst Manager game... ON EARTH. This is a truly awful manager game.
I have played better manager games, that are 5 years old!
The only good part about it was being able to see 3-D Players

Not as Good as Football Manager. I recently played this game at a friends house, and was very dissapointed.
Having read the other reviews, I was expecting something spectacular, but what I found was a joke.
Pros:
The only part of this game that I enjoyed was watching the matches, it was a welcome change from FM where all you have are tiny dots, which run around the game, but are very realistic in the way they play (i.e. the passing, tackling, dribbling, shooting, etc). The Fifa players looked better, and played reasonably realisticly, and i enjoyed having your own player.
Cons:
Firstly it is way too easy to win with any team, for instance i was Brentford, and won all the leagues up till the premiership, which i came 7th in.
It takes very long to get used too, and the attributes are not very clear.
It also underrates how much it would cost for a player, and which clubs would sign who (e.g. in our game Chelsea signed: Kaka, Ronaldinho, Adriano, and Puyol, all of whom are very unlikely to go there).
All in all a dissapointment, and a pretty awful game, which has no chance against the mighty FM 07, and isn't even as good as CM 07
