Two types of Madcatz Wireless Controllers. Madcatz MicroCon Wireless Controller (PS2)
There are intially 2 types of controller, both Madcatz.
One controller uses three AAA batteries is slightly bigger in size and the plug-in unit has a short wire extention connecting to a remote receiver.
The other controller uses two AAA batteries, has rubber grips each side of controller and a one piece plug-in unit in which receiver is inbuilt (much better idea).
Batteries last a long time (so remember to switch controller "OFF" when finished.
Neither unit has a vibration facility, unlike other controllers.
You need to search thoroughly to locate on Amazon, both unit types.

Dodgy controller. I bought this controller for a brand new PS2 and tried to play it with Pirates of the Caribbean. Guess what after 20 minutes it stopped working. The left control joystick refused to let me go left. I plugged in the wired controller and all was fine. Off to the shops now to take it back and demand petrol money also. Do not buy this product.

Great Handy little Thing.. I got this controller about 2 weeks ago so I could play my playstation 2 from a distance.This is a great controller but not perfect it lets me play from a any distance (within reason) and it makes my coison jelous when hes playing with wires and I'm not.
The controller itself looks nice but mein looks nothing like the picture on the web site.It has a nice black design and has grips on each side of the controller.Unlike the review below the start and select buttons are easy to press.The controller size is smaller than the offical sony controller so this means the directional buttons and the other buttons are smaller as well.
The controller is very easy to use in the box you get a recever that you plug into the playstaions controller socket then you put 3x AAA batries in turn the controller on and away you go.I have rechargeble battries and they have lasted for 2 weeks and still going.
In summary This is a great price for what you get so if you want a basic wireless controller buy this.

This Small Controller Comes Big With Surprises From The MadCatz!. I needed a 2nd Playstation 2 controller, but I wanted a Wireless one so that I can play games from my bed instead of playing from my chair, which was originally quite close to the TV! So I got this for my Birthday in 2005, and it is a handy controller!
The MadCatz Wireless Playstation 2 Controller is small and fairly descent, as it has grip sticky ends, which give comfort for the users hand, has easy accessible buttons and only requires 2 AAA Batteries, which can last for a good period of time!
You get the Wireless Controller and a Power Supply along with it. To allow the controller to work you just simply insert the Power Supply in the controller socket, insert you're batteries, wait for the Power Supply to show a green dot and away you go! Remember as well that you've got to choose the right channel for the control and the power supply, otherwise the controller will think you're Player 2, whereas you could be Player 1, Player 3 etc!
The only disadvantage I have with the controller is the space for the two joysticks and the Start and Select Buttons! Firstly I find that as you play, your thumbs will regularly get into contact as the two joysticks are fairly close to each other, and I find that distracting. Secondly, the Start and Select Buttons are too small as they are tiny circles and in order to activate them you've got to press down hard on the Start & Select Buttons!
Among this, there is really nothing new about the controller itself as the buttons are exactly the same as a normal Playstation 2 DualShock Controller!
My Grade For The Controller: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up
My Wish: All I really wish for is a bit more room so that my fingers don't irritate me while I play!
Final Comments: In the end, I'm chuffed with this controller and I recommend you buy it. It's better than having two normal controllers and you're friend keeps distracting you while you're in action. With this controller, you can have one player playing normal while the other player is thrown on the bed and using this Wireless Baby!
