New Super Mario Brothers (Wii)

I thought that Super Mario brothers cannot get any more innovative than the old titles (various NES titles that I used to play with in my younger days!). But I was very wrong. This is a very exciting, well designed and detailed game. Youngsters love it, it is their most favourite game since Christmas out of many titles they own. Although one has finished the game he goes back and plays the previous levels. The 2D platform does not dissapoint. Although it's a great game, in comparison to other titles I think it is a bit pricey, so giving it 4 stars, but for game enjoyment/ fun I have given it 5 stars.

We recently bought the Wii and we chose this game as one of our first and its my 8 year old daughter's favourite - its all that she plays. I also enjoy playing with her except that we shriek very loudly when one of us ends up in lava or falls off a cliff!!! This is a colourful, vibrant game and as you play you get lots of extra lives so the game lasts a long time. Also if you don't manage a level it will show you how to do it and you can either try again or skip a level which is useful. You also collect certain powers and enabling one to fly, shoot ice balls and loads of other things. Really fun and exciting game.

It's your classic Mario Platform game, just like the old ones. Great fun playing it with friends but if you are looking for something innovative or new then it's the wrong game. I was never tempted to play it in single player mode for that reason, but like I said it's good fun playing it with friends. So in terms of a multi-player experience I would recommend it. As a single player not so much.

My kids could play this for hours. All the different levels, the challenge and the detail make it very absorbing. I like the light - hearted feel of it (except the one level that has a sound track of a funeral derge!)

really great i would recomend to have 2 remotes but one is ok . great levels and worlds and overall AMAZING !!!

I played his game for the first time recently and wasn't particularly looking forward to it. I have played New Super Mario Bros on the DS and wasn't expecting a great improvement or much difference. Playing the game on your own isn't particularly brilliant. Which is why I played it with 3 other people and the game was fantastic!! I played with a couple of people who love the Wii and my partner who isn't too bothered by it all. Even though we were meant to work together the best fun was killing each other and messing around! This game is a brilliant party game as everyone just has a laugh and it is a pick up and play game. Based on the multiplayer game this title is well worth buying and a fun game.

Excellent game.. A nostalgic trip for all who have grown up playing the TV and Computer version of this game... And for other it will be a fresh experience. It retains all the fun of the original game while making the graphics better and the game more interesting. An excellent product... Thumbs Up!

Mario in 2D has been a long time coming back to home consoles. The fact that this is now also 4 player is just too much fun! Great for a laugh, and 4 player is hilarious. If you get stuck there is "Super Guide". Just to warn you though this game does get pretty hard pretty quickly, but kepp going as it is simply stunning! W ejust had to keep on playing until we had every level licked and every large gold coin. FYI there are 9 levels, the 9th is hidden ;-)

Perfect game for my boys aged 5 & 6. Friends round every night no clearing up of toys as this is the only game they want to play! I can cook dinner with no interuptions.... fabulous.

This game is near perfect. Nintendo are absolute geniuses when it comes to making video games. This game just proves once again that when a Mario game is on top form, it will embarass any other platformer hands down. And not only platformers, it will embarass other games full stop purely because of its playability and imagination - and the fact that it gets more and more challenging as it goes on - without ever being TOO hard. Imagine all the very best bits from all the previous 2D Mario games (Paper Mario excluded, great game, but nothing to do with this) such as gameplay, enemies, powerups, levels, sound effects, music etc etc, merged perfectly together and then made into something EVEN better, with lots of new things added - thats what this game is. Fans of arguably the best of those games, Mario 3 and Mario World, will not be disappointed - as they are used as the canvas on which Nintendo paint their magic. Total genius. If you don't like this game, then there must be something wrong with you - this is pure, old school, classic platform gaming at its best. I honestly haven't been this excited about a Mario game since Mario 64 - and its even better than I thought it would be. The inclusion of the multi-player option and the return of the Koopa Kids is the icing on the cake. I can't wait for the next one, which will no doubt be even better than this. Long live Miyamoto.
