Disappointing. After playing fifa games since 2002, I thought I would try Pro Evo 6 for the PSP. I loved it at first as the gameplay was refreshing, however I agree totally with the review of PES fan pete in that the difficulty varies so much it takes the fun out of the game. For example if i played 5 games on 3 star difficulty about 4 would end up 0-0, and that's no exaggeration. Maybe I'm just bad! but it isn't fun when the game is about goals and there are so little chance to get past the defence and it can get bogged down in midfield all the time. However the graphics in this game are fantastic, especially for the close ups of the players! but still no licensed stadiums gives FIFA the advantage. Also something I can't understand is no commentary in the game at all, it just isn't right, and combining this with only a few licensed teams with very long loading times makes for a disappointing experience. I expected the lack of teams and licensing when playing this game, but when the football on the pitch just wasn't exciting enough, I was really surprised, but maybe the PS2 games are much better and it just didn't port well to PSP. I haven't played any FIFAs for PSP, but you know you are going to get more teams players and kits that are official, so I'd recommend getting FIFA over PES, unless you are a long time Pro Evo fan.

Customer Review 1

Not so sure. First of all im a huge fan of PES having played them throughout the years on the ps2.i was eargly anticipating what this title would be lik on the psp.unfortunately i was rather diappointed, fistly the loading times last for ages.the next problem was the diffulty-in the easiiest setting resulted in scorelines often reaching double figures.however in the next setting scoring goals were painstakinly hard and n fact ruined the gameplay.my final problem is master league,i cant seem 2 find a way to change the teams n the league which has resulted in playing liverpool followed by monaco etc.however i am hoping i jus havent found out how to do this and if anyone reading this knows how PLEASE LET ME NO.if this can in fact be changed my rating will prob change to 3/4.

Customer Review 2

Imperfect. This game is fun, and certainly does not deserve some of the negative reviews. The game is intuitive, with good graphics and animation, bearing in mind the capabilities of the PSP. There are all manner of tournaments and leagues to keep you occupied. But, there are some frustrating problems. Number 1 is the difficulty curve. If you play beginner, you will undoubtably amass victories in excess of 10 - 0, but as soon as you upgrade to amateur, the opposition defence suddenly become brilliant. The only reliable way to score is to run in from the wings, changing direction and bursts of speed, because as soon as you pass it is cut out. Also, if you cross, it is very rare to win a header in the box. The lack of commentary is a problem. But the biggest single problem, not as yet touched on, are the load times. They are ridiculously long, and the game insists on reloading, even when you elect to play with the same teams. Why? Also, and this is frustrating to the extreme, before each match the game insists on loading up the team line-up, with various views of the same stadium in the background. Then you press 'start', and it is only then that it actually starts to load the match!!! This may be acceptable a couple of times, but after 3 matches it drives you to despair. Why waste 2 mins of loading time just to show the line-ups? Unbelievable. As a gamer used to rapid load times, it soon wears thin. If I had the choice of purchasing only one football game with retrospect, I would not have gone for this.

Customer Review 3

GGGGOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!. Ok, firstly let me say that I come to the football on th psp as a virgin. It is the first football game I have played on the psp but it's brill. I have PE4 on the PS2 and was desperate for footie game on the go so after weighing up FIFA and PES I plumped for PES6 as I had knowledge on the ps2. Now I have heard people say that shooting is hard and you have to be spot on to score, fair enough I say. How many times have we watched a game on tv thinking "This is a sitter, he's gotta score" only to see the ball either flying high, wide or gently into the goalies arms, often I say! It just means that you have to be patient and be acurate with your shots, just like the real thing. Another gripe that a few reviewers have said is the lack of commentary, GOOD. I remember playing ISS64 on the Nintendo 64 and the commentator (John Motson I think?) said "He couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo" haha for the first couple of times but when you hear it 10-15 times PER GAME it got slightly annoying which I find with many, if not most of sports games. I have recently bought PDC darts and whilst I love Sid Waddell I had to turn the volume down as the "commentary" just ruined the game, which seems to happen with most games. No, until the commentary is good enough keep it to a minimum, commentary when scoring is fine with me. The thing which got my goat though is why are Arsenal etc (i.e. the big clubs) named when others are "Liverpool Red, Manchester Blue" etc. If it's good enough for one then do it for them all I say! However it is a small thing which I quickly overlooked as the players name's are all correct. One point I do have, which is the same as another reviewer is when did Michael Owen start hanging around the far side on the penalty box when you are on the other side, maybe it's a new tatic Michael has started to use for the begining of the oncoming season. In summary, yes there are a few niggles but they are minor when you consider the quality of the game as a whole. I would like to say, finally that Pro Ev and FIFA are personal choices. If you are a FIFA fan then you will not like Pro Ev, vice versa, if you are a Pro ev fan then you probably wont like FIFA. ALl I can say is if you want a quality game whilst on the move look no further than PES6....GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Customer Review 4

Why should you by this ?. Not very good at all. i much prefer the fifa games even if they are dearer. not all real names put you of and this makes it longer to purchase players. gameplay is above average but not great for the psp. overall it deserves 1 star.
