Handy Gadget. As I have seemed to suffer a power cut at least once per year where I live, I thought that this item could prove useful. I bought one for each floor of my house and, in the 18 months or so that I have used them, they have proven their worth in three power cuts.
The torch lights up as soon as it gets dark and it produces a reasonable amount of light for you to find it and then make your way around in the dark. The light produced is more of a glow, although when the torch is removed from the holder, it gets a little brighter. I use it to locate more powerful torches and candles stowed away in the cupboard - it is actually invaluable for that task alone.
The integrated socket is useful as it avoids the need to unplug the item to use appliances and thus avoids the risk that you might forget to plug it back in again.
