Slimline USB External CD-RW, DVD-ROM Drive for Laptops, Desktop and Netbooks

Worked right out of the box first time. Very simple to use and set up. Looks quality, not noisy like some cheep drives. Well worth the low price.

I recently bought a new 'gaming' PC that was unable to play DVD ROMs. This drive has enabled to play games through my new PC and is compatible with windows 7 (64-bit), regardless of what other reviews say on here.

I bought this for my sub notebook, which is a 12' laptop without internal optical driver. The driver works well but the noise during the operation is a little annoying.

Fairly good buy. It works well with my wife's Eee Pc running Windows 7 as well as my older Sony Vaio which runs XP. Have used it on both to watch DVDs as well as to listen to and rip CDs, and for the most part its worked well. On the odd occassion I've found it has't been able to play a CD for some reason, but this has usually been resolved by restarting the drive or putting a different CD in and then returning to the CD that didn't work later on. All in all I'm pleased with this drive apart from the one or two times it has struggled with reading a CD that I've put into it.

Looks like a useful piece of kit - and when you get it - it certainly looks the business. I have a brand new PC, less than a week old, operating on Windows 7. This external drive simply won't instal at all. Trying to find software on the web to help is pointless - and the instructions come in a small booklet - about 2.5 inches high and one page long. Half of that is in Chinese.... Very frustrating indeed. Then I find that because I have bought through an Amazon merchant I have to return the product at my own cost - and they will test it 'to see if it works' etc.. well it might - but it DOESN'T WORK on my new PC. and that's the key test. so - now I have to return a product at my own cost - and then (presumably) have a battle with an Amazon merchant to see whether or not they think something should work on my computer. I would not buy from an Amazon merchant again. READ THE RETURNS POILCY BEFORE YOU BUY BOYS AND GIRLS.

The supporting DVD has instructions all in Chinese, and doesnt boot automatically. Have requested a English based DVD and stil waiting and cant find the driver online. So this maybe a great product, but only if you read Chinese?!

I needed an external drive for my new Toshiba NB300-108 netbook and wanted something light and cheap - that works. This one is great - highly portable and even feels nice with a brushed feel to its surface. It fooled me first thing because it is supplied with two cables and a small driver CD. If there's a wrong way to do it, I'll try, so I used the USB/powersocket lead and nothing happened. Once only the USB/USB lead is used the device installs and works without requiring the driver CD on Windows 7. Silent in use. I don't need to write DVDs so this drive is perfect for the job.

Excellent product; no problems with it at all. The software installed easily and the drive worked, and works, first time. Very pleased with it.

this product did not work for my netbook advent! ws very dissapointed being given the wrong equipment for it. sent back.

Useless - will read and write DVDs but will not read or write CDs. Contacted Amazon who were not interested because it has been sold by a 3rd party seller. No contact details for the 3rd party seller - just an e-mail page. Still trying to find out how I can return this and get a refund.
