External USB 2.0 Slim DVD CD R/RW Drive Burner Writer

For those who, like myself, have a busted optical drive on their laptop (HP Pavillion dv6 series, incase you're wondering) with Windows 7 (32-bit) on it -- rest assured, this product works like a charm; or atleast it did for me. Windows identified and automatically installed the driver when I hooked it up, so no need for the CD that comes with it.

This product ain't pretty but it represents excellent value for money. Plugged in and played with no problem. It stayed cool and worked fine whilst I uploaded several bits of software. The drive itself is lightweight, solidly constructed and ok looking (nothing stylish, nothing ugly). Two problems with it - firstly it is a bit reluctant to open, sometimes needs poking repeatedly secondly I had some trouble plugging the adaptor in, it went into the mains fine but it wouldn't go into my plug board.

I recently purchased a new Acer netbook but needed something to load all my music and programmes on to the computer.I read the reviews online at Amazon which made up mind, purchased the item and am very pleased. I plugged it in into the usb port and off it went. No complicated or long winded instructions and ready to use within a few minutes. It is sturdy in appearance but slimline, lightweight and very quiet. Another consideration was obviously the price and i feel it is very reasonably priced. A great little product.

Excellent bit if kit does exactly what is says on the box, lightwieght & compact perfect for keeping in my Netbook carry case.

Just arrived this morning for my Samsung N130 netbook. Speedy delivery and an excellent piece of kit. Just plugged in to USB port/windows XP and away it went. Had to download a driver to play DVD's. To date very satisfied.

Yes I bought one to use with my netbook and its very compact and easy to use so when my dad bought a netbook I bought him the burner writer for Fathers day. He will probably use it more than me as he wants to be able watch dvds when he is on holiday. Says its much better than the portable dvd player he had borrowed for his last holiday. I would recommend it especially for use with netbooks. Great price too!

Nice little DVD combo drive, easy to install on Windows 7 netbook. Only downside was did not have DVD decoder software as part of the installation so had to download from internet before the DVD player would work. CD no problem.

This drive does everything that you would need to give full functionality to a netbook - 1st rate.

Great little piece of kit this.Purchased for use with my Asus notebook primarily for playing c.d`s,but have enjoyed watching d.v.d`s with no problems.Had to unplug my external speakers when initialy setting up,but then it was just plug in and play.Slimline,compact,and runs reasonably quitely too.Good functionable product at a very fair price.
