Maroon 5 aren't the first band to fuse R&B and rock, but they're certainly one of the most convincing. On Songs About Jane, one can almost hear Stevie Wonder's beaded dreadlocks clattering in time to their deep, funky grooves. At best, the band conjure up latter-day Motown, complete with a shuddering organ and hyperbolic vocals; at worst, they sound like a stylised boy band, with all the attendant close harmonies and dramatic pauses. Despite these musical schisms, Maroon 5 are a thoroughly engaging outfit, thanks to throbbing basslines, hooky songs and lead singer Adam Levin's swaggering delivery.

This guys are fab. What can I say these guys are fantastic, I loved "songs about Jane", I would highly recommend it "she wiil be loved" , "this love" and "sunday morning" being my particular faves. 10/10 for Maroon 5!! I've recently bought their new album but I've not listened to it yet.

Only the beginning. Well let me first say that I have had the album since the first day it came out, but I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts with you people.
This album is a definite amazing buy. Anyone who is considering wanting to purchase it or start listening to the band should definitely go for it. The musical styles and talent displayed on the record is simply amazing and the vocals delivered from Adam Levine are simply orgasmic.
Like I said, I've owned this album since the first day it came out and I'm still here today listening to it as much as I did when I first got it and thats a lot.

This album is surprisingly amazing!. The songs on here are simply fantastic. This album mostly consists of relationships either good or bad. This band seems to have absorbed many influences and done a nice job incorporating many of them. Mix a little bit of this and a little bit of that and what do you get...Maroon 5. This band can't be secluded to one genre; they're really all over the musical spectrum. From funk to soul to pop to rock, this band blends everything together creating a fresh new sound. Yes, others are trying this sound, but Maroon 5 has mastered it, creating an album that is fun and very sexy. For the first time in quite a while I can say that I have bought an album that doesn't sound like anything else I own.
Singer/song writer Adam Levine is great. His voice, his lyrics and his guitar playing are incredible. If you've ever been in love and lost this album is for you. The vocals on this album absolutely can't be ignored. Adam Levine (lead vocals) sings his heart out. In every song his teardrop voice is filled with genuine passion and soul (stand out vocal performance "Sunday Morning"). Lyrically they follow the same trend as they do vocally and musically, impressive. Maroon 5 is a band with undeniable talent and this Octone Record CD is 12 great songs right down the line.
The songs that really stand out to me are "She Will Be Loved", "Tangled", "Harder to Breath", "This Love" "The Sun", "Sunday Morning", "Must Get Out" and "Through With You". The problem from me is of the three above, were released as singles, which were constantly being played on music TV and radio. You couldn't turn anything on without hearing Adams voice (which is okay to listen to, but not 24/7).
This album makes me smile and most importantly makes me listen to it over and over again. The flow and the rhythm of the album are easy to listen too. The songs are not too soft to put you to sleep and not too hard to shock the hell of you. If you like Maroon 5's radio hits then you'll like this album greatly.

Maroon plays us some more. I totally love this album!! I have had it a couple of years now and still love it and can't get enough of it.
I loved this band this their first single 'Harder to Breath' and just had to get this album when it came out and I wasn't disappointed one bit with this album.
It is great from start to finish and there is no mistaking just how good this band is. I can't wait to hear something new from them because if this is anything to go by then all we can expect is something more wonderful than this.

!Pure Brilliance!. I've been meaning to buy this ablum since hearing there single Harder to Breathe a few years ago. Now seeing it on sale I had to buy it. . .oh how I wish I'd brought it sooner!
This is one class act ablum, every song on it is great, the quality never degrades the whole way though. I swear this will be a classic, certainly everybody should own this. Very catchy music, I've already listened to it god knows how many times and I only brought it yestaday.
