Starting from Scratch

A problem in me giving a comment can / will be the writing - I'm Flemish. I only comment on the books I think are worthwhile. Reading Starting from Scratch was a delight : good writing, specially the dialogue, humour, believable characters, good story-line etc. I don't like cooking or baking but I read I all. Let this be THE recommendation to buy the book.

If you enjoyed the other books by this author you won't be disappointed. This is another endearing story full of humour on the one hand and really moving moments that aren't predictable and overly sentimental on the other hand. Not to be missed.

As all of the Georgia Beers I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The characters are well crafted, the story line is believable and the conversation between the characters feels natural. Beers certainly knows how to string a sentence together - the book is well written, always entertaining and even funny at parts.
