24x USB External Slim CD-ROM Drive (Black)

I bought this CD drive as my integral Macbook one has died. I thought at first the external drive was fine if incredibly slow to load discs. However, it transpires that the drive does not copy data across to the computer very well without corrupting it, with the result that a number of chapters of several audio books are very distorted and hard to listen to. As the data is digital there should be no room for error, after all, you wouldn't expect to open a Word document and find that only 80% of the words you'd typed were still there. Now I need to buy a more expensive, and hopefully more reliable drive. This one is a false economy.

I bought this drive to add on to my netbook. On using it i realised i should really have got a portable DVD-drive. But this does what it is supposed to do, & i have no complaints. It fits into my netbook case but the two cables (USB & power cables) are a bit annoying though.

Purchased for loading software to a netbook, performed as it should, excellent value for the money paid.

It works just fine. A bit noisy, but it's so cheap that it's totally worth it. Hope it lasts for a long time!

Bought this so I could install software onto my Netbook. Worked perfectly with the standard USB drivers on the Netbook. Just the job and great value. :-)

Received this today pluged into my netbook worked straight away cant beleive how good it is for the money far better than I thought it would be.Smart neat and sturdy and I must say that I found it very quiet all in all really pleased

This is a temperamental little machine that has completely messed up my plans and prevented me from working by seemingly making up its own mind about when it will and will not function. Even when placed on a flat surface, there can be no more than a brief flutter of action before it slinks back into its dormant state. A false economy item: spend more money on a good quality product that you can rely on. This is just a waste of money and time.

Bought this item at a good price. Tried five shop bought cd's but only two would play. Company contacted by e-mail which was quickly answered and replacement cd rom was sent out and arrived following day. Return of faulty item was by freepost so no extra cost to myself. Just a point, if you have problems with not playing cd's. My cd tray had a film of dust within the tray which could possibly also been covering the optical laser which reads the cd. Maybe worth cleaning the laser but i cannot recommend this as it may invalidate any warranty that comes with this product

Had a Problem with the first one sent but after contacting seller, He sent a replacement. Good service, the problem was not the venders fault.Everything GREAT Now
