HDMI AV Cable

WARNING: This is *not* the 'HDMI AV cable'. It is 'Standard HDMI Cable'. The title should be changed. The first image is the 'Standard HDMI Cable', the second image is of the 'HDMI AV Cable'. These are two different products. The difference between the two; - The 'HDMI AV Cable' pack contains two cables: a standard HDMI cable and the Optical/RCA Audio adapter (which allows you to hook up audio gear with the optical TOSlink). - The 'Standard HDMI Cable' pack only contains a HDMI cable (much the same as every other HDMI cable). It does not contain the Optical/RCA Audio adapter. When I ordered this item I expected to receive the 'HDMI AV Cable'. Instead I received the 'Standard HDMI Cable'. I have returned it to Amazon (using one of their printable pre-paid labels), and they have refunded my money. A nice and simple returns process. It gets one star due to product description error, however the actual HDMI cable is probably much the same as every other HDMI cable. Amazon is now aware of the error, and I hope this product description changes soon.

this was very much worth the price, it really makes a huge difference to graphics from a game!

One thing about this, is HDMI cable actually carries sound. So you don't need the AV Cables, unless using speakers to amplify it around you. If you want the hdmi for the tv only. You could probably find a cheaper alternative, for just the hdmi cable.

simply plug one end into your xbox slims hdmi port and the other into the hdmi port on your tv and this enables (providing you have a full hdtv (1080)) crystal clear graphics and use the sound cable attached to speakers if u want enhanced sound.

I am mixed over this item. I seen that I can just rip the cover of the back of the AV connector. Aye this is fine if you cant see the back of your xbox and ain't a weirdo perfectionist like me! I like it all to be neat and tidy. And so I bought this. Just so I can use my amp and hdmi at the same time. Aye its just like sony and microsoft to screw us for more money.... but as long as there is people like me.... they will always make money! It does what is says on the tin!

This addition is not terribly needed. It frees up the audio output to be hooked up to an external stereo system, and limits the amount of cables one needs, but I didn't see a noticable improvment in the visuals.

Works fine with my xbox 360 and my new 24" full hd pc monitor. But you can buy cheaper hdmi cable and optical/RCA audio adapter. I think them would work as fine as officials..

Wasn't covinced this was my solution but hey I was wrong. 360 Elite purchased in Jan and normal connection cables. Picture ok but a little fuzzy and some text difficult to read. Some searching and forums indicated HDMI cable (previously supplied) is no longer in package but that this type of inteface would give the clear gaming I was looking for. Reading previous reports about value for money when compared with other HDMI cables had me a little concerned but a good saving (offer) convinced me to go for manufacturer's own product. Hey presto and I still can't really comprehend how poor picture was compared to now! If you want to enhance your Xbox experience make sure its HD.

Thought that when I got my Elite I wouldn't have to buy one of these - surely Microsoft wouldn't be so cynical as to oblige me to shell out for this. Of course I was wrong - if you want HDMI pictures and optical sound you have no real choice. This product should not be necessary, but it is - the price I paid on Amazon was well below high street prices.

I have an Elite 360 which is connected to a Sony Digital surround sound receiver with HDMI ports on it, you do not need this particular cable if your receiver has these ports as HDMI cables carry the digital surround sound signal as well. Just change the settings on the 360 console for sound via HDMI. As long as you have a compatible Amp/Receiver with HDMI inputs for A/V you'll be fine. Mine works a treat.
